Monotea by Raphael Morais. Wonderful design, purely conceptual. The only advantage I see over a traditional spherical teapot over this, is that a sphere has less surface area, therefore will retain the water’s heat better. Easily tweaked with a bit of insulation.

Onyx furniture is selling these stunning Moebius Armchairs, which seat two people back-to-back. Price by request, which means it’s more than I could ever afford, but damn. Mathematical geekery plus furniture. That’s pretty much a guaranteed sell for me. They also produce a Klein Bottle version, though it doesn’t quite have the same style.

Modular furniture is one of those things I adore, but could never, ever afford. The SITE collection, available at Davis Furniture costs a couple of thousand for even the cheapest units. Gorgeous, minimalist interconnected work. Utterly out of my price range.

The yacht is a 14,000hp, 122 ft. luxury yacht, the car is a 800 horsepower, twin turbo V12. Which parks in the yacht.

Art deco interiors. Lines that would make Batman jealous. This is disgustingly beautiful and opulent. It’s everything you would imagine coming from the super rich, so far beyond the every day that it boggles the mind.

The concept of these meeting knives is absolutely beautiful. I get the feeling they would be hard to hold and use accurately, but look at those curves. Utterly impractical, but full points for style.

This concept by Shu-Chun Hsiao is of concrete coated USB sticks, of which each one’s capacity in Megabytes is also its weight in grams.

I like the concept here, but concrete near computers? Hell no. Far too abrasive and damaging. I think something similar could be done with a different medium, to similar effect, but without the potential for destruction.

Concrete is also quite dense, so I don’t know how little it would require to weigh only 64g.

Designer Erik Ku has this wonderful self-describing chair. To quote the designer:

An inspiration from the American contemporary artist Joseph Kosuth, One and Three Chair. Instead of giving new definition, I redefined the concept of a chair by using alphabet. One is able to construct a chair by assembling the redesigned alphabets.

The website has plenty of other interesting designs as well.

Word is that Coke is rolling out their freestyle machines nationwide. These machines use small inkjet-like cartridges to stack many more flavors than normally available in a fountain machine, and have the ability to create 104 different flavor combinations. Apparently this system has been in the works for about five years, and is only now making significant inroads.
